One of the many things I've figured out
at my wise old age of 20 is that people
condemn honesty but then react even
more poorly to the consequences of the
dishonesty. I mean this within the
context of relationships, mainly. I would
rather someone be brutally honest with
me than pity me and give me a sugared-
up version of what they really want to say When people are honest we call them a slew of nasty things, but if
they're fake-nice to us and lead us to
thinking they care more than they do,
we end up in the limbo of not knowing
where we stand with people.
