Happy with the person I am, I've worked since I was fifteen, well qualified and well read, but quite down to earth. A congenial, strong minded, family oriented guy, who enjoys life and living, as well as travelling.

I'm a sociable, practical, passionate, a hands-on kind of man, affectionate and spontaneous, good company, I can change a toxic nappy, a light bulb, a bed, a blown fuse, own socks, a horses saddle, a car engine, and my mind. Recently returned from the US to find my friends are scattered all over the world now, work is fine, but there must be more to life than this.

So although not lonely as such, I find myself longing for some decent company, someone who can hold a conversation read, write - without using block capitals or finger paint - is confident without being arrogant, smart without being a fashionista, I enjoy a wide range of music - from Lady GaGa to Bach and a lot more besides - films, theatre, concerts, etc.

I'd like to find someone prepared to be, a challenge, a best friend, a partner and an equal: I like to share things, laughter and happiness being 2 of my favourites! I find I laugh a lot - often at myself, my friends tell me that I am good company and a genuinely funny guy. Go figure that! Which is why we now limit our alcohol in-take

I am an incurable romantic who knows when to treat a woman like a lady and when a lady needs to be treated like a woman - and knows the difference between the two.
