Hi all! My name is Joshua. I am 28, well-kept, with eyes that can vary in color from blue, green, grey, or a mixture. I came to Bangalore in the middle of October and have learned my way around 2 neighborhoods as well as seeing Mysore, Gokarna, and Goa. I will be here until April and then be coming back again. I would like to meet a good friend or two who can show me around and I can connect with. It doesn't matter to me where in India you are from. I'm a laidback man and love great conversation and storytelling. I enjoy making others laugh and try to find humor in everyday situations. I'm a logical person by nature but do have a heart and would like to meet someone who can bring more of that side out in me. I enjoy life and try to live every day to the fullest rather than living in the past in regret. I've been told I deal with adversity well, and people tend to come to me for advice quite a bit because of it. I can be a serious person when I need to be but am able to be childish and have fun when the situation calls for it. I have few friends (by choice) because I would rather have a quiet and drama-free life instead and only share it with people who I feel I can trust. Some things I've been called...chef, artist, counselor, comedian, walking encyclopedia, wannabe Desi, mentor, and even guardian angel by a few. Nobody yet has been able to describe me using just one word :)
My purpose in India, you ask? Lots of things. It's something I feel I have to do before 30 or I'll regret it the rest of my life, and I really don't like the feeling of regret. It's better to try something and have it not work out than to not and grow old wondering what could have been. Life is short. Firstly, I really think I'd like to settle in India permanently. Since I was a small child, I've never really fit into Western culture and have different core values. I'd rather cooperate with and help others than compete and down them. I give respect where it's due, and I still believe in manners and being decent. I feel no need to try to "keep up" with others and am content with who I am. I believe I stand a much better chance of finding friendship, true love, spiritual fulfillment, and a comfortable balanced life in India and truly want to integrate and belong as much as possible, volunteer at an orphanage once I get settled, etc. I also have been working on some music as a hobby the last 6 years or so and would like to work with some people to complete it with me who are looking for an opportunity. I'm determined to give this experience a wholehearted honest effort keeping an open mind, positive attitude, and will let fate decide the rest.
I was raised in a small country style town for my entire childhood but later lived by myself in New York City for two years. I felt it was necessary to give me a proper perspective on the world. I'm equally comfortable in a country/village setting or a major metro setting and have found what I like and dislike about both environments. I'm very much a proponent of balance and try to achieve it in my own life as much as possible.
I am not looking for a Bollywood, Kollywood, or Sandalwood actress. Personality and heart are much more important to me. I'm also not concerned with what your educational background is or if you even have one. A degree does not make me respect someone more. I judge a person on their character rather than credentials. Caste, religion, and skin color also don't matter to me. We're all in the human being caste, right? :-) I don't care if your english is perfect or not. I will be able to understand you just fine. You may even be able to teach me some Kannada or Tamil because I would love to learn!
All I realy look for in a friend is good conversation, consistency, and reliability. Nothing complicated at all. In a potential girlfriend 21 to 29 yrs old, sweet, affectionate, simple, modest, honest, loyal, full of life and positive energy, and understanding with a big heart and common sense.
