I suppose describing myself is a lot like seeking to understand the opposite gender; I know what I like about women, but don't understand you at all. In all fairness and to borrow a lyrical phrase from Sammy Hagar, "I know this like I know myself, not very well yet I'm no stranger And having said all this, I must admit that experience has brought forth the following tidbits of self-knowledge for me: I believe we are bound to the truth because anything less dishonors both the sender and receiver of the dishonest message. It seems to me that the best logic for being a better man is because I strongly suspect I will attract a mate with similar qualities; different issues, but similar qualities. I believe Jimi Hendrix was right when he stated that the world would know peace when the power of love exceeded the love of power. I believe all of life is a huge experimental miracle and that it probably exists elsewhere in this eternal place where we reside and I could not likely dream wildly enough to imagine how it has adapted to its' own environment. I've learned the less I try to impress others, the more impressed I am with who I am capable of becoming. I know one lifetime is too little time to experience all of life as we know it and I suspect several wouldn't be enough either. I am mesmerized with the persistence of life. I believe in the power of doing the things that would sensibly make life better for all. I believe we have barely scratched the surface of what we can do in our quest to extend life. I've learned that the deepest love we have for another is expressed when we let them go and genuinely hope for their happiness even when we have to do so painfully. I've learned our own ego is the greatest detriment to our capacity to grow and love. And it seems that I still believe in the dating and mating process to the extent that I am willing to take the risk of posting this message. I suppose I am seeking someone who sees life from much the same perspective.
