Someone who is themself as we are all individuals and I would not like to tie myself down to a fixed type and miss out on someone who can add different aspects to me.
I love to go camping in hilly areas and then to go hiking up the hills. I have taken up running and have been a cycling MAMIL for a while to try and keep myself fit and looking trim. I grow my own veg on my allotment and I love to cook, and I also like reading especially contemporary novels), music, comedy, gigs and pubs (especially good country pubs after a hike up those hills before returning to the tent to cook). I also like nights out or nights in at home with or without a drink. I am plant based and like to live as sustainably as I can. My first love is the natural world and I am at my happiest when fully immersed in it. My music taste is mainly indies from the eighties to the present day but I like versions of just about everything from full on far out music to mainstream pop.
I am a professional working in local government and I enjoy my work and am part of a brilliant team. I am also an Explorer Scout leader and a DofE leader.
I have not been to many places abroad but now my kids are grown up, I want to stretch my wings a bit. The fact that my kids are grown up shocks me as I never feel like I have fully grown up myself. When relaxed and not writing about myself, my sense of humour can be edgy and is observational. Ultimately I am looking for a relationship and someone to share my new 'no dependents' life. I like my partner to be my friend and to feel that they are my equal, and for us to make each other laugh and look after each other in those moments when one or both of us is not so ok. I would like them to introduce me to some new experiences we can share and for me to be able to offer them the same. Partnerships should be a mutually beneficial learning experience.
