My ideal mate is someone who is my best friend. We would be so much a part of each other, that our lives would not feel complete without the other. When anything good or bad happens, he would be the first person that comes to my mind to talk to. He would get along with my son and be a male role model for him to look up to and emulate. He would share some common interests with me, but have his own also. For me, actions always speak volumes louder than words.
My ideal first date wouldn't be some expensive restaurant or something, although it's okay for special occasions. He would plan a picnic for us at a park, historical site, or the beach. He would remember things like foods and drinks that I like or dislike, how I drink my coffee, my fears, and my dreams -- little things that show me he pays attention and wants to know me.
I've been a single mom dedicated to raising my special needs son for 21 years. I am pretty easygoing and laid back. I haven't been in a real relationship since my son's father while my son was still an infant. It's been work and college since then. I've been disabled since 2008, so my life pretty much consists of my son, our doctor appointments, and going back to college. Then I ran into this site and decided that if God meant me to be with someone, he would guide them my way or vice versa. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If nothing else, I might meet a good friend. One thing I can tell you for sure is that I am very happy living in the South and not looking to away move from it. I am slightly overweight right now due to meds and medical conditions but am working on the new me. I just transferred to this health plan that includes gym membership to 5 different gyms in town and I can sign up for all of them!
