I am a Hungarian born naturalized australian in his mid sixties, recently retired from being a portrait photographer, who want to live the rest of my life in my birthplace. I'm not a rich man by any means, in fact I am on the Australian age pension, which means $1600 Australian dollars a month, a paltry sum in Australia, but it should be a sizable contribution to any retired lady living on her own, especially if she had her own apartment in a decent sized town anywhere in Hungary, but especially in Budepest.
I suffered a stroke a couple of years ago, which left my right side paralysed, but everything else works, I'm young at heart and mind, possess a wicked sense of humour, and I can participate in an intelligent conversation about most subjects. I pride myself at being a good listener, sensitive to other people's needs, dispense good advice, and have always been a champion of the underdog.
And now, after two years of physiotherapy I can now walk a couple of hundred metres with the help of a cane, and for longer trips I use an electric scooter or a taxi.
I had lived in many places in the world after I left Hungary as an eighteen year old youth after the 1956 Hungarian revolution, married an Australian girl at age 20, had a couple of children with her, and then inevitably divorced after a sixteen year marriage after which I began my wanderings that took me to many places in the world. I've lived in Puerta Vallarta on the Mexican west coast, Marbella on the Spanish Costa del Sol, London and country England, and fifteen years in San Francisco,
The last decade or so I spent working as a photographer, had a number of portrait studios from Brisbane to Melbourne, wrote a couple of novels, (neither of which made me rich and famous, but the one I am fifty pages into at the moment, an autobiography, I have a certain amount of expectation for. I have no idea if this endeavour will result in finding me the gal I'm looking for, but what the hell, I've always called myself a lucky Sagittarian, so let's see if that's still holds true.
