I’ve lived and worked in London for years, and could easily go back there, but am currently based in Rotterdam, where I inhabit a studio apartment on the riverside that I keep when working abroad. I cannot say that I feel quite at home among the Dutch (I'm far from a typical Dutchman) – I miss the much larger diversity of people that I've gotten used to in London. That is why I sneak a peek on this site, hoping to meet people from abroad who are already here – expats, so I may recover a bit of that expat feeling myself, perhaps.
