Affectionate, caring, attractive, honest and sharing at least some of my interests, particularly travel. Someone who believes in taking decisions together in a partnership of equals.
Life is fun. I have a great sense of humour and enjoy laughter. Rather like Boris I think I may have made a few too many jokes at the wrong time. As a senior civil servant I suppose I should have been totally serious but I always saw the funny side of things. I appreciated the culture of honesty and integrity which for the most part still prevails in government (yes, really!). I am adaptable and get on well with all kinds of people. I love foreign travel and speak a few other languages. I lived in Germany for 4 years and wish I had had more opportunities to live abroad. Maybe it's not too late. I have visited 84 countries, which leaves even more new ones to explore, to say nothing of those I want to go back to. I also love music, especially but not exclusively classical, photography, cricket, cinema and TV, country walks and pubs and meeting up with friends and making new ones. I go to a lot of Meetup groups and belong to a reading group in Battersea, where I lived until a few years ago. Living in Inner London was great but, having moved further out, I appreciate the extra space and the proximity to the countryside. I still go to a lot of events in the centre - it just takes longer to get there. I can be pretty independent and I am retired so have plenty of spare time but I do feel life would be more fulfilling with a partner. I went solo on a cruise round south America, had a great time, made some lasting friendships but even so... I have several friends who prefer to stay single but I'm not convinced.
