I don't like sales. But here it goes. I have my own construction company Current thoughts on this industry is that it seems all vain and wasteful. It does provide myself with a living. The sector I am involved with has the pleasure of dealing with designers and architects. I truly believe the home is an important space that should reflect how one lives and not just for appearances. Myself I do not enjoy living in a home. It is unfortunately a necessary thing. An example of what I am speaking to is when I lived on a job site in rural GA. When there I shared an old chestnut log cabin with other workers. I however ended living for two years on the porch all seasons. It was 8x10 and my most favorite dwelling to date. I do not require much. I fight myself to avoid the slide to convention. This plight is not to be different however it is to do what brings me happiness.
I do enjoy sustainability. I've always read about it since I was a teenager My first home was going to be a yurt, rammed earth, or straw bale. I have yet to arrive there. I did help friends construct a straw bale home in middle Tennessee.
I also enjoy the earth. The smell of rich soil is an enjoyable fragrance to me. I grew up tending the garden and helping my family can and preserve the harvest. Having wonderful food available year round is a good memory I have from my childhood. I want to eventually get back to gardening. A couple of years ago I was turned onto the idea of farming talapia along side gardening. A symbiotic relationship. These things and similar possibilities are interesting to me.
I do have a love of the out doors. Obviously. Water is another passion of mine. The presence of moving water brings life to me whenever I get the opportunity to be with it.
